Luxurious Historic Manor ca 1870-sleeps 10 (up to 12*) n in true comfort

Hardwood Floors, High Ceilings, Stone, Tile, Brick and Marble combine both style and true comfort in our handsome Taylor Manor built in 1870! Memories made will not be soon forgotten. Whether it's because of a floor plan that brings groups easily together yet allows for those private niches as well...or the soft leather furnishings and supremely comfy beds. (So comfortable in fact that guests have called back just to ask for the names of my mattresses!)

Located in a quiet section of the coveted historic landmark district of downtown Savannah, you can walk to all the chaos of shops/restaurants/museums/home tours/cafes and yet....you'll awaken in the mornings to birds and squirrels scampering outside your windows along our brick lined street across from a church and park.

Once inside the Manor, you'll pass through the marbled foyer to enter the living room where sunlight streams through three floor-to- ceiling-windows. Oversized mahoghany tables and overstuffed, soft, brown leather furnishings along with built-in- bookcases and pink marble fireplace beckon. Board games and TV/DVD/VCR along with warm throws make this a room that provides the perfect background for laughter, entertainment and conversation.

The floorplan is open and airy with archways and pass-throughs between rooms along with high ceilings that create a fluid traffic pattern and which prevents the bottlenecking common with historic homes built in the 19th century.

The first floor contains the Kitchen, Living Room, Hall/Foyer, and Dining Room and they all open easily onto each other. A beautiful mohaghany, antique table seating 8 - 10 is the focus of the Dining Room which also boasts a black granite firplace and floor to ceiling built-in-shelves. The mantlepiece, re-built during the 2001 restoration, is made of 400 year-old wood salvaged from the Manor's 1870's original hard pine.

Pass through the Dining room and step into the huge, stone-tiled "Cooks" kitchen. Warm and spacious with a quaker-esque ambiance. Modern appliances are fit within handmade countertops of 400 year-old heartpine. An antique oak dinette set seats another 4 - 6 people.

In the rear of the kitchen, three faux-french doors open onto a bi-level deck w/built-in bench seating. Take the short 5 steps to the patio below and you'll find yourself on a curving brick path bordered with jasmine and flowers to the east and the furnished patio to the west. Ferns and flowers continue to encircle the patio and the charming brick pathway leads through a rose-covered iron arbor to the driveway beyond. Between the umbrella table and chairs and built-in bench, larger parties have plenty of room to enjoy warm Savannah nights. Sip a glass of wine and wash cares away amidst twinkling white lights under the warm Savannah night skies.

Upstairs on the second floor, choose your bedroom- The three bedrooms are themed and each features a Queen-sized bed. (Total Bed Count for the Manor is 4 Queens, 1 Full, 2 Twins (in the form of a trundle and Twin daybed).

The Master Bedroom is styled with an Old World decor. It has a private balcony; attached bath with jetted tub; walk-in closet, and TV/VCR. It is a delightful refuge of privacy and handsome comfort. Tub is a shower/tub combination

Further down the polished wood hallway of the second floor are the other two Bedrooms. They designs mirror one another with quaint, brick fireplaces, polished wooden-plank flooring, built-in mirrored closets, and iron furnishings. However, the decor for each is distinctivly its own. Charming romance and rosebuds are the theme of the middle "Rosebud" room. The other blends a sterner, yet gracious decor reminiscent of Civil War days. Black and White photographs pay gentle homage to the War and that the Manor was built in 1870, a handful of years after the "War between the States" ended.

While both these bedrooms have separate entrances off the hallway, there are also connecting French Doors betwixt the two of them. This allows Guests the options of leaving them open to create a 2 bedroom suite. Or...lock the French Doors and enjoy your own separate, private Queen bedroom.

Continue down to the south end of the hall and you'll find yourself in a bathroom soaked in sunlight. Two large windows, high ceiling, 6 foot long claw tub (that doubles as a shower) with a tiled floor and white beadboard and wainscotting provide you with a bathing experience that is delightful.

To ensure convenience throughout your stay, the north end of the hall discretely conceals a stackable Washer/Dryer and ironing board.

Climb the stairs to the third floor Attic Bedroom. Slanted ceilings end at twin dormir windows boasting built-in cushionded windowseats. Hardwood pine floors stretch toward the wide closet occupying the far wall. An antique table with chairs and cozy game center with Nintendo, VCR and TV add charm and entertainment for the younger set. When it comes to picking out which bed you want... Picture Goldilocks...you have 2 twin sized beds, a Full and a Queen to choose from! A hooked rug on the floor and mirror ball hanging from the ceiling blend a decor reminiscent of Louisa May Alcott's era at the turn of the century with the modern quirks of the 21st century.

Appliances include Refrigerator/Freezer with ice maker, Electric stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher and Washer/Dryer. Wireless Wifi access, Cental Heat/Air, Ceiling Fans, and Kitchen is fully stocked with all you need to cook/bake. Linens provided.

Every mattress in the Manor is encased to avoid any risk of bed bugs and to keep the home perfect for those looking for a hypoallergenic vacation! Even though its pet friendly...the stone, wood, tile and marble decor with leather furnishings and absence of heavy draperies and rugs allow even those with asthma and allergies to find the perfect solution in the Taylor Manor.

The Manor sleeps easily 10 in pure comfort and even up to 12...however, groups larger than 10 require preapproval by owner and extra person fees apply.

The Manor is located on East Taylor Street with its brick sidewalks and old iron gaslights stretching down eastward. The Manor is the perfect starting point for your explorations around Savannah. Across Taylor Street is the Bricked St Benedict Catholic Church c1800's. To the east several doors down at the end of beautiful, tree-lined East Taylor Street is Mother Matilda Beasely Park. Whitfield Square with its gazebo (frequent site of outdoor weddings) lies one block west. Forsyth Park is a short 10 min stroll. the River is a 20 min walk north. Pretty much everything is a 30 min walk or less from the door.

You'll find the neighborhood charming, the neighbors sweet and why Savannah is known as the "City of Hospitality" when you stay at Taylor Manor. BTW...we (the owners) live next door ;). Which is wonderful when you don't want an unkept absentee landlord home but one that you'll find clean, well maintained and, should unexpected problems arise, they are promptly addressed. Because Southern Hospitality never felt so good. :)

Thank you so much for having our group this weekend! Your home is beautiful and perfectly located. Our bachelorette part fit just so in the house and everyone truly enjoyed it. We did Savanah Pedals one day, a ghost tour, and a day in the park. We had wonderful weather. Even though this was a bachelorette party, the girls all feel like they learned more about Savannah by staying in the Manor. Thank you for all your fabulous suggestions and helpful notes.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at Taylor Manor. The accommodations were just perfect for our group of 12! Particularly the attic bedroom for our girl scouts! Everyone loved our visit to Savannah- especially the dolphin tour with Dercks Dolphin Adventure- highly recommend. We also had a great time doing a ghost tour with Monica on her Ghost Talk, Ghost Walk. We are so looking forward to our next visit and staying again at the Taylor Manor. Thanks for being a fabulous host and enjoy your Girl Scout Cookies!

We had a delightful time in your wonderful city and in your beautiful home!! We arrived from all corners of Canada to relax and enjoy each other's company and the setting could not have been more perfect. Thank you so much for all the thoughtful details. I have to mention how comfortable the beds were! Because of the rain, we stayed in more than planned. We baked and played board games. Memories made!

Review #16337024 “Built ca1870-Lovely Historic Manor in heart of downtown historic district” Girl Scout Trip ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I brought a group of Girl Scouts to Savannah and everyone LOVED Taylor Manor. The owner, Suzanne, was wonderful to work with. She met us at the door the day we arrived and took us through her beautiful home, gave us suggestions for places to eat/visit and answered all our questions. The girls had so much fun exploring the house and they all loved the attic room bedroom. I stayed in the master bedroom and the mattress was awesome - I did not want to get out of bed in the mornings. The house had everything we needed. We cooked some of our meals at the house. The kitchen was well stocked and there was room for all 10 of us at the dining room table. There were even games and books for the girls. The property sits on a quiet street and we felt completely safe, even after walking back late from our ghost tour. Highly recommend the Old Savannah Trolley Tour and the Pirate House. We had a great time and I would definitely recommend this property.

We had 12 family members that stayed here for the Thanksgiving weekend. It was wonderful. We felt so at home in the Taylor Manor. The location is perfect. We walked to everything we wanted to see and then drove down to Tybee Island and another time to the St. Bonaventure Cemetery. The drives weren't bad at all. Even the grocery store was close by for one we needed a few things. Suzanne was wonderful to work with. We will definitely stay here again if we get to go back to Savannah

We had a special birthday so invited guests from England, Australia and New Jersey! Our New Jersey guests stayed at the Manor and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The house is just out perfect for 6 - 8 guests and is extremely well supplied. Location wise its perfect - just out of the main Savannah downtown area but close enough to walk. And as this was a St Patrick's Day celebration the parade started just around the corner. Very comfortable and the BBQ at the rear got a good workout too!

Our stay at Taylor Manor was everything we could have imagined! We had a group of girls in town for a bachelorette party and we had the best time! The kitchen was perfect for our needs and we loved the back patio. The living room and dining room were great common areas for our large group. Very clean and well stocked. Suzanne was a delightful host and was very attentive to anything we needed. She answered any calls with questions and was so nice to work with! Would recommend this home to any larger group looking to all stay together. I would say the only fault was that the pictures don't do it justice! Much cuter in person!

The Taylor Estate proved perfect in every way for our family gathering! A total of 17 of us enjoyed the manor and carriage house, including 12 adults and 5 children, ages 4 months to 9 years. The description of the house and cottage are very accurate but it is all much more charming than the photos. Suzanne has somehow managed to combine the ambience of an historic property with the most modern of comforts. The kitchens had all the utensils we would ever need and the courtyards with hottub, twinkle lights and grills were relished by all. The location is perfect – parks and playgrounds across the street one way and all of historic Savannah the other. We highly recommend the Taylor Estate to anyone with a trip to Savannah in their future!

We chose the Taylor Estate as our home away from home for our daughter's wedding in Savannah. We rented both the manor and the carriage house which was perfect to have enough space for our family and the bridal party. We had an age range from 2 to 90 and did not need anything that was not available in the home. The estate is so beautiful that we took pre-wedding photos in the manor. Parking was not a problem with the off street parking and extra spaces in the front. Suzanne was helpful by recommending a local nail salon for those pre wedding manicures. We could not of had a better experience and the location is so convenient to downtown. We would definitely stay here again on future trips to Savannah.

Beautiful in the Spring! Thank you ‘Savannah Historic Hideaways’, This was a perfect location for dear friends to gather. Fourteen ladies, from all over Savannah, gathered together for three days, two nights in this elegant, spacious Historic District Manor, what a treat. Centrally located, I was thrilled to walk to all of our destinations. Several new treasures found by traveling on foot, Crystal Beer Parlor, est.1933, fun shops in the Downtown Design District on Jones Street, and the amazing beauty of this charming city in the early morning hours. Suzanne, thank you for your hospitality and providing the many details that make a getaway great, knowing where to go, what to wear, providing the comforts of home, crisp clean beds and bath, full size kitchen with amenities, and many common areas for laughter and visiting. If you only have a day in Savannah, you must visit, Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House(cash or check only), St. Johns Cathedral, some sort of walking tour or trolley tour, Gallery Espresso(coffee house), Forsyth Park, Crystal Beer Parlor(specialty, cheese burger w/fries), and all things chocolate at Lulu’s Chocolate Bar on MLK. Looking forward to our next visit, Having the "time of our lives"!

There were 10 of us who rented this estate and cottage, for an all-girls getaway. This home is beautiful and very nicely preserved, with modern amenities to make the perfect place to come home to after a long day of touring and shopping in beautiful Savannah. Along with the perfect location for walking and only a few block from the trolly tour route, I highly recommend this home if you are planning a trip to Savannah in the future. The owners are very nice and did a fabulous job of preparing us for our visit. There were big fluffy towels, complementary soaps, toilet paper, a nice kitchen to cook in, and comfortable beds awaiting us. I would definitely stay again and would I recommend this home to my friends and family members!

We are a group of 5 couples from various US locations that meet once a year in different cities. This year our reunion was held in Savannah and we stayed in the Taylor Estate. The Taylor Estate is a perfect location for exploring Savannah's historic district. During most of our visit, our cars remained parked and we could walk to most everything we wanted to do. The Taylor Estate was perfect for our group. 2 couples stayed in the cottage and 3 couples in the Manor House. We had most meals together in the Manor House as well as drinks on the patio most evenings. The Estate is well appointed, very comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen. Suzanne is very responsive to any questions or anything you may need. Highlights of our trip included early morning walks around the historic district, visiting various churches, a walking tour of the squares with "Savannah Dan", a night at the Savannah Theater, and a tour of Fort Pulaski. Needless to say, we had a wonderful time just being together in a lovely city and in a beautiful historic home.

Beautiful Home, Beautiful Savannah We have an annual girls trip and always try to find somewhere fun so we picked out Savannah this year. And we have learned, the best way to go for these weekends is to stay in a house - it just makes the whole weekend so much more fun. And the Taylor Manor was PERFECT in every way. There is a lovely modern and well equipped kitchen - so we could have coffee together in the morning. The Hot tub on the back porch was divine! From a long and arduous day of shopping, we could hop in relax with a glass of wine before heading out to one of the many many great restaurants (make reservations weeks in advance for the Old Pink House!). The beds were heavenly - no matter what your preference you will find a bed that fits your needs in this lovely home. And the water pressure in the showers was excellent - that can always be dicey in historic homes. And the best, is Suzanne the owner - she just could not have been sweeter. So kind, so helpful, and she is focused on ensuring that you truly enjoy your stay. I just can't say enough wonderful things about our weekend. Thank you Suzanne, and thank you Savannah!"

lovely retreat! Truly, we enjoyed our stay! We were close enough to stroll to all the many attractions. Yet, far enough away to peacefully wake up to birds singing. The accommodations were clean, relaxing, and very charming. The owners were just delightful. We are looking forward to returning to this lovely retreat!

Thank you, Our stay in your home was a relaxing experience. The convenience made travel in your city a breeze! Your home is a treasure box, each room shared love and care throughout the house. The Manor has been made into a home...the walls say welcome; the chairs say sit down, take a seat, and relax; the kitchen says use me for your service. The work, the details of every room...absolutely Marvelous! Triple Thank You for allowing us to use your lovely home for our girlfriend's weekend getaway! Beautiful Home, Great Location, Loved it!

I brought my Girl Scout troop down AGAIN for a trip to Historic Savannah, we were first here in Aug 2010. We loved the Taylor Estate so much that we didn't even consider another option for lodging. Having the convenience of a real home with a kitchen and multiple bathrooms (very much needed for a bunch of little girls) made the trip all the more enjoyable! We love everything about the home - the price, the décor, the location (we walked everywhere), the owners! The Schulz family are amazing - addressed our every need, supplied the home with a map, brochures, suggestions, etc. Everything we needed was already provided without having to ask for anything. I will definitely be returning to Savannah in the future, whether with future girl scouts or my family, and will definitely be calling Mrs. Schulz again! Thank you so much for your hospitality and making your home available to visitors like us! Sincerely, Girl Scout Troop 1158 Smyrna, DE

We had a wonderful family holiday at Taylor Manor over Thanksgiving. It is a beautiful, cozy home with a wonderful atmosphere. The kitchen is well stocked. Both houses are so pleasant to stay in that you won't want to leave. You can walk to River Street in about 15 to 20 minutes and there are beautiful streets and parks everywhere you look. We also enjoyed the doggie park which is practically across the street. There is a Kroger within walking distance if you’re not buying a lot. I hope to go back some day.

Rock n Roll Marathoners...this Estate ROCKED! Thank you so much for allowing us crazy group of marathon runners to occupy the house. The house was AWESOME and the home was everything we could have imagined and more for historic Savannah. The Hot Tub felt AMAZING after the run! Will definitely keep you all in mind when we come back to Savannah to run again (or maybe relax) :) Thanks again!

Girl Scout Troop 2959 from Virginia had a great time visiting Savannah. It was a great trip to the Juliette Low Birthplace, shopping, and eating at Paula Deans. The Taylor Mansion was perfect for our group of 10 and the girls loved the Hot Tub! This was a wonderful time for our group since so many of our girls are graduating. Thanks for a weekend of wonderful memories as our girls head off to college!

We enjoyed the historic flavor and ambiance of the Taylor Manor House - especially since our entire family could spend the time together. Our time together was made even more special because of our son's wedding and the presence of family from many places including the Philippines. A never-to-be-forgotten experience.

We had a lovely stay here for our parents 50th wedding anniversary! The kids held a "disco" party in the "lair" (attic bedroom). The third floor "stayed alive" :). If you go to the Pirates House, ask for the kids menu for everyone...it includes pirate hats, eye patches and last but not least, mustaches! We gathered each night in the living room movie night. love, love, LOVE the house!

We usually cruise every year for our vacation, but this year our schedule just didn't allow it. We wanted to do something different for vacation before our daughter went back to college...so it was my job(Margie) to find us something and someplace we've never been..... We stayed in the cottage and there was plenty of room for us all. We loved the fact it was so centrally located and we were able to walk to most our destinations. We loved Jones Street! Our daughter is already saving her money to buy a house there! Thank goodness she's a Bio/Chem-Pharmacy Major! We loved the special details that you provided for us....like the Damask printed book with all the info about the grocery, restaurants and sightseeing (with personal notes written on most). The linens, pillows and beds are to die for!! Made it hard to leave in the mornings...but we had so much to see! We originally were going to eat out once a day and grab a sandwich at the cottage for lunch! We enjoyed hanging out there so much (plus we were soooo tired) We actually only ate out one time, at the Pirate's House. We used the grill in the nice little court yard area in the evenings and grilled steak one night and burgers another. The kitchen is pretty awesome and well equipped too! =) We will definitely be back! Savannah is our new favorite place! A nice mix between Key West and New Orleans and a WHOLE lot cleaner! =) God Bless!

We had a fantastic stay here in Savannah mostly due to your hospitality of providing our "home" away from home. It was very relaxing to return to after our very busy days on-the-go. We all had a very enjoyable time This is my 3rd trip here to Savannah with this one having the best accommodations by far. We want to thank you for being a part of our troop's memories! Sandi -Troop Leader Additional Comments( from the girls themselves): This house is beautiful! I love everything about it! Savannah is just a beautiful city to live in/visit in. This is my 2nd trip here to Savannah and this house is wonderful, just like this wonderful city! Stay Golden, Alicia. Well I'll start off saying your house is absolutely beautiful. You are a fantastic interior decorator :). I love the set up of the house. All us 5 teenagers stayed in the attic. It was fun to have privacy which we wouldn't have as much in a hotel. Your kitchen is AMAZING!!! Very roomy and I felt very at home here! Me and my Mom pretty much think this is our dream house. Thank you so much for sharing it with us! It made our stay in Savannah that much better! Sincerely, Jamie Just wanted to let you know what wonderful time I had in Savannah with my daughter. We loved your home!! I would love to come back with some of my family and stay for a week. Thanks! Jamie's Mom, Dee. I really enjoyed staying in this house. This is a beautiful house and makes me feel at home. I loved how the floors were set up. All the girls got to sleep together in the same room. The beds (well at least mine) were SO comfortable! I loved staying here. Thank you for sharing your house with us! Thanks again, Allie

We had a group of 16 people for the Savannah Rock N Roll Marathon, and rented the manor and cottage. Was more than enough room for us all. Beds were comfortable and had plenty of room for all of us to gather for dinner Friday night in the manor. The houses are tucked away in a quiet area, but are close enough to walk to anywhere in the Historic district within 10-15 minutes or a 5 minute Uber ride. Our favorite place to eat was the diner (Clary's I believe???) around the corner- it was awesome! If you are renting for the marathon, it is about a mile walk from the start/finish lines, so very convenient. We had some internet issues (which were of course out of Suzanne's control) but she was quick to respond, which was nice. We didn't get to meet Suzanne personally, but she was very helpful, organized, and accommodating to our large group. If we go back next year, we would love to rent again! Great property!

Our family of 14, from Virgenia, Georgia, Florida, and Texas had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Savannah. LOVED the location of your home- we were able to walk everywhere. Our 2 dogs loved running in the dog park nearby and we had fun playing a very spirited game of Taboo and watching some great football! Thank you for your hospitality!

We just returned from a Visit to Savannah with our Girl Scout Troup - all 18 of us. The houses were wonderful. We all fit comfortably in the Manor House and the Carriage House. The house was located close enough to downtown that we were able to walk whereever we needed. Best of all we Never ran out of hot water! If I'm ever in Savannah again, I will defiantly be staying here!

A group of 9 women chose to return to Savannah for our annual Sisterchicks getaway. I found this property on VRBO and it was perfect for our trip. We stayed in The Manor and enjoyed its comfy beds & pillows, the homey touches including throws and games, the well stocked kitchen and the large table in the dining room where we could all sit at one time! The Manor was decorated beautifully and it was fun to stay in a home built in the 1870s. We were very pleased and would highly recommend this property

A bunch of my girlfriends and I rented the house for a long weekend in October and we had a great time. The dining room, huge kitchen, outdoor patio and grill were perfect for dinners together. There was plenty of room for all 10 of us and everything was walking distance or a very short cab ride. It was the perfect house for us to have a reunion and many great memories were made here! We will definitely be coming back!

pleasantly surprised. For years my mother has wanted to get my sisters, my aunt and my cousin together for a girls weekend...It finally happened. We decided to rent a house, with a little hesitation on how well it would accomodate 7 "Alpha" women. To my surprise it was THE perfect venue for our get-together. It was so perfect that we only went out to eat once and preferred making our own meals and just hanging out in this wonderful home. The manor offered a large kitchen great living space, very comfortable beds and the location allowed us to walk just about everywhere. The owners were very accomodating and even gave us a basket of cheese and crackers as well as a nice bottle of wine...yum!

Our Girl Scout troop came to Savannah and we thank you so much for making the experience one the girls will never forget...or their leaders! Such fun we had! We took the free cat shuttle all over the downtown and enjoyed mass at St John's Cathedral. The girls really had a ball at the beach. Having us all together in your big, beautiful home was fantastic...much better than a hotel. Your home was perfect and Savannah lived up to it's reputation for southern hospitality. We will recommend you over and over again!!!

My stay at your home(It felt like I was at home) was great! The house had all the wonderful comforts of being at home. The rooms were decorated so beautiful and the beds were so comfortable. From the little touches of books to read and games to play to the huge comforts of televisions and dvd players, it made our trip to Savannah wonderful. The idea of having a complete kitchen with dishes and pans to having movies to watch, it was great. Thank you for having such an awesome place to stay within walking distance of so much of the city of Savannah.

We came to Savannah to celebrate our son's wedding. Staying in your beautiful home added greatly to our wonderful Savannah memories. The location of the Manor was perfect. Your attention to detail and the comfortable furnishings made time spent at the house completely relaxing. During our "wedding downtime" when we weren't walking about the city, we enjoyed the board games...the kids loved the dress up box and Nintendo upstairs. Thank you so much for allowing us to share your home. We enjoyed your southern hospitality tremendously!

You have such a lovely house! It is decorated so beautifully. We couldn't believe all of the attention to detail from the plush towels to the sweet smelling soaps! We came for our sons SCAD graduation and we hope to stay with you again the next time we're in town.

We just returned from the Lady and Sons restaurant...a very good buffet. We walked our tootsies off all over town. The beaches at Tybee Island were clean and the "big swim" at Beaufort was such fun to see. The visitors center was very helpful to us. We so enjoyed our stay in your lovely home! Thanks for sharing it with us. It was perfect for our family reunion.

Hi Suzanne, It dawned on me the other day that I forgot to write in your book, so I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you for letting us use your beautiful home for our trip to Savannah. The girls had so much fun exploring the house and really loved the attic bedroom. I stayed in the master bedroom and the mattress was incredible! I didn’t want to get out of bed in the mornings. The house had everything we needed –you certainly provide well for your guests. Even though our trip was cut short, the girls had a great time while we were there. We did the historic tour on the Old Savannah Trolley, did a ghost tour, visited the Juliette Low House and St. John’s Cathedral, shopped on River Street and the City Market and ate at the Pirate House (which all the girls LOVED). We also made it out to Tybee, but the wind and the waves (and seagulls!) were already too bad to enjoy it for too long from the coming hurricane! I hope you and your family were safe and had no problems during Hurricane Matthew!
